While many believe that Porsche has inspired the Lamborghini logo, these two have a completely different origins. The Porsche symbol looks really powerful, yet elegant and sophisticated, but it also looks like coats of arms. Why? Because it is made of two different coats of arms, combined beautifully to create a perfectly designed car logo. The first and focal element of Porsche logo is a black horse (on a golden background) and it is the coat of arms of Stuttgart, the city where all Porsche cars are made. The city’s coat of arms origins are that the city was built on a farm, nevertheless, Porsche also like the idea that the black horse symbolizes power and strength.
The other element that takes most of the Porsche badge is the coat of arms of the region of Württemberg, the state where Stuttgart is based. This symbol is made of red and black stripes and antlers on a golden background. On the top of the crest, the brand’s name is written in black and stylish font, completing the logo. Despite the few minor modifications, the iconic Porsche logo has not been changed for over 63 years. To this day, the Porsche badge is still being hand made in Germany and can be purchased at any Porsche center around the world for customers convenience; so they can replace their old and worn out logos with a brand new one.
